The team behind Spex Pistols’ HQ is what makes us who we are. Spex Pistols is made up of a small team of 10 wonderful people. Those of you who visit us in the shop regularly will have gotten to know us all pretty well. But for those of you who shop with us online, we wanted to give you the chance to meet the team and the people who create your frames. First up…we'll ask India to introduce herself.
I’m India, and I am currently a nursing student. So that means I’m trained in first aid. Which is good to know, but we are a spex shop so it's unlikely we’ll need to put my nursing skills into action - you never know though.
I've been part of the Spex Pistols' family for quite a while now and have a vast knowledge of everything Spex Pistols. I think it helps that I'm also an avid music fan (the clue's in the shop name) and I can talk anything from Doris Day to Janis Joplin to Siouxsie and the banshees. However, be prepared to hear more than a few Madonna facts because she is my all time favourite. Listen out, because she’ll occasionally feature in the shop playlist (well, at least when I’m there).
I love old films and any kind of pop culture, so you’ll definitely find out which 1940s movie star I reckon you look like when you try on our vintage frames. Afterall, I believe there's a little bit of Cary Grant coolness in everyone.
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, I’d be on the Isle of Skye drinking whisky by a log fire looking out at the Cuillins. On a nice evening, I love to ride my bicycle to the beach because there’s nothing I like more than a cycle and a good view of the sunset.
My favourite pair of spex are the Ray-Ban Shooter...I think that's because they're such an iconic frame. One that has framed the faces of great minds such as Gloria Steinem and Hunter S. Thompson.
Oh, and one last important fact - my favourite pen is a yellow sharpie.
Over the next few weeks we'll be introducing you to more members of the team. And in the meantime, if there's anything you'd like to know about Spex Pistols...get in touch.
